Laddie and Mac went to NPS area 13, |Mac won and qualified NPS summer champs and Laddie won his class, qualified equifest and too champion. Pictures of out new boy on ponies page. Minstrel had his first dressage test this month, he went brilliantly for Heather and they won with over 72%, they also qualified for trailblazers. Sadly we lost dear Olive to a heart attack, she was a speacial pup and although we only owned her four months, she will be sadly missed for a long time. Rest in peace little girl, we miss you.
March - We took Minstrel to a 'pre winter champ' show at Topthorn Equestrian centre, it was a BSPS area 16 show. Heather Baker kindly rode him for me and they both went foot perfect and won. Im very proud of the both of them and of course a big thank you to Heather. Olive went to crufts and was 4th out of a whopping 48, we could not beleive it! We had a lovely day but that will be it for her showing, she can now roll in as much fox poop as she likes! Laddie has also qualified for the Glyn Greenwood summer championship.
February - We have had horrendous snow for 2 weeks. The ponies are all doing well and Minstrel, Nettle and Lea are happy to be in the warm. Roll on Summer.

4th October - Minstrel had his 2nd ridden show today, at Newton hall in the pooring rain. He won the BSPS heritage ridden, PUK confine Novice ridden and went ridden champ. He was a real star especially with the terrible weather. Proud mum i am again, what a super pony, love him loads.

After five minutes of cheekyness on our arrival she tied up to the lorry munching her haynet nicely before we set off to the ring for our first class with me on tenderhooks. Hazel did not drag meskking across the ring as expected and did a wonderful show. She was first and reserve champion in the end and was such a pleasure to handle all day long. Very pleased with you Hazel pips. Bein also had his first shot at a jumping class and was 2nd to Johnsondene.
1st July - R.I.P Tarskavaig of Talisker
What a sad sad day, we lost little Tarka boy this evening. He was fine at lunch time and when i came back at four he was flat out in the field. We managed to get him into a stable and the vet came, gave him antibiotics, inflammatories, pain killers and hooked him up to a drip. He got up and was up and walking and it looked like I would be in for a long night of feeding him and building his strength and he would recover and then all of a sudden he collapsed and died in a matter of minutes.
He had a slight infection on Friday and with the vets advice we fed him live yogurt and everything cleared up by Saturday morning.
The vet said that his immune system had not had the chance to recover before being hit with another bug which he just couldn’t cope with and being 28 degrees did not help either. It hit him so quickly, i cant believe it, Im so upset, he was such a wonderful foal and so sweet and cuddly, truly one in a million. The vet said she has seen it many times this year, how horrendous.
We are so so cut up, he was a wonderful boy with a wonderful future ahead of him in a lovely home.
R.I.P Tarka boy, you only lived 3 weeks but you were one in a million.

8th March - Very pleased with Greadhaich of Talisker today. He went to the Ponies UK Lincs show at Manor farm for his first ridden show of the season and his second ridden show ever. He was so happy to out and you could see how willing to please his rider he was, he won his class and qualified for the winter championships and also ended up reserve champion.
February - Bein has gone away to Julie Barton in Suffolk to be produced for the Summer. I am trying to be sensible and take things easy this year with the baby coming along. We have also not decided to use Minstrel on his first mares, much to Chiefs delight! The HPEC WA gathering at Littley Green in Essex was a great success, Michael Sharpley attended and gave us a very informative talk on his judging experiences both in the UK and abroad and we also held a photo competition, with a many super ponies entering it made Michaels job of judging incredibly difficult. Thanks you all for supporting us and i hope you had a wonderful day.

It was a great chance to dress up for the day and go shopping for free! Lea as always was a show off and even drew a little fan club on the way back to the lorry.
14th August - PUK summer championships, well it was the last show of the season for us, the weather prediction was terrible and it had been raining all through the night. Luckily the skys cleared for a couple of hours during the highland classes and we didnt get tottally drenched. Minstrel was alot more settled in his stable overnight this time. He was not tucked up at all in the morning and just looked super. He won the in hand highland 2/3yr old in great company and went on to be reserve champion. What a lovely end ton the season.
4th August - Malvern highland pony show, it was lovely to catch up with so many old freinds and meet some new faces, we had a BBQ on both the Friday and Saturday at 'the booze wagon' to celebrate Mums b-day. It was Minstrels 1st time staying away from home and he behaved extremely well, he was quite tucked up on the Saturday but we still came home with a 2nd in the in-hand 2/3yr old colts class. We are so proud of how he behaved on his time staying away.
27th July - Heather Mitchell and i decided to take some ponies for some competing fun in Scotland, we loaded Bein and Isla up and off we trucked. 1st stop Border Union where Bein was 2nd in a very strong class of lovely highlands being judged by Robin Stewart. We then travelled up to stirling where Jaqui (Mulletsmum) very kindly put us up for the weekend with the ponies. 19th July - We have just arrived back from our honeymoon in the Maldives, we had an amazing time but the ponies were sorely missed. Lea is still in a mood with me for leaving her, so i am having to really suck up to her. We had a lovely warm greeting from Minstrel, Chiefy and all the lasses which was lovely. Maggie has teamed up with Nutmeg whilst we have been away and formed 'the terrible two', they are incredibly cheeky between them and Flo and Mossy are getting braver. I will post some wedding pics and foal piccies in the next week or so. 30th June - Well im now Mrs Carnegie, we had an amazing day and the weather held good for us. Im just speechless, the little boy has made me so proud!
2nd June - As Stevenage show was to wet to go to on the bank holiday Monday for Beins first novice ridden class, we decided to jump into the deep end and enter an open class, well he went like an open pony (much to my surprise as we had been cantering on the wrong leg all week) and we came second in a huge class of open ponies. Very proud of my 'growned up boy'. 24th May - Princess of Dykes gave birth to a lovely little yellow dun filly by Grouse of Langley, we have called her Fionchoire of Talisker (pretty lady). 20th May 2007 - ANNAC HAS FOALED at 5.00pm today Annie produced a gorgeous little cream dun colt, he looks just like his daddy and has two little black thumb prints on the top of his forelegs. We have called him Strollomus of Talisker as this means strong and protected - quite appropriate! 13th May 2007 - Balleroy Minstrel attended his first show today at Milton Park, he was a little fiery but behave extremely well, he not only won his class but was champion aswel. What a weekend! 12th May 2007 - Foaline of Talisker attended her first show today at Newark and Notts county, she behaved so well and we are thrilled to say she won her class, first time out!! 10th May 2007 - Minstrel has been awarded a stallion license!!! A beautiful filly foal by Chief out of Druimfearna of Talisker born at 5 am. We have named her Glamaig (means greedy female) as she has not left the milk bar since she was born.
March 2007 - Sassie Lassy of Lound belonging to Karen Donaldson and Bonnie belonging to Helen Riley have both had beautiful filly foals by chiefy...we wish them all the best of luck with their new additions! I will post some baby pictures on the 'foals 2007' tab above. Princess of Dykes arrived safely from yorkshire, she is in foal to Grouse of Langley and her baby is due in May, shes so much like my mare lea thats its hard to tell them apart, this is going to be fun! Coulmore April has gone to Julia Rayner just down the road from us, they are a lovely family and are spoiling April rotten! Annie and Fern have just started to bag up, cant be long now! Many sleepless nights ahead for me i fear!
February 2007 - Ponies have wintered really well this year, the grass hasnt really stopped growing, fern is getting big.
January 2007 - Its been absolutely ages since i have made any updates to my site, life has been a bit of a whirlwind at Talisker to say the least, in the past 6 months i have got engaged, bought a house, weaned foals, broken in my four year old and am also frantically planning my wedding for June this year along side my two full time jobs (one of them being my neddies), to say my life has been crazy is an understatement!! I have made lots of additions to the site and added lots of new piccies of my babies, i hope you enjoy them. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
August - PONIES UK SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIPS! We had a very cold and wet year this year at PUK, Rhiddoroch of Talisker went and behaved beautifully all week, it was her first time stabled away from home and she encountered all sorts of strange and wonderfuly things yet was not upset by anything at all. In the highland in hand we won the Maconachie trophy for best highland filly for the 3rd year running, the previous 2 years it has been won by BLAVEN of TALISKER and before that there was a 1 year gap when FERNILEA of TALISKER won the trophy, we also came home with 2 second places rossettes which really made the week! Rose can now have a nice relaxing winter as she most certainly has deserved it!
23rd July 2006 - Whilst i was on holiday in France soaking up the rays, Mum decided to take one of our old broodmares 'A'Bhaisteir of Taliskers dam Monique' to the 'Highlands and Islands' bi'annual show at the ILPH centre in Norfolk. It was Mums first ever in hand showing class and she was thrilled that it was also her first ever win! I have just ordered a picture form the photographer of her crying her eyes out as she is awarded her first place rosette.
2nd July 2006 - Talisker Highland Ponies Open Day 2006 - We had a brilliant open day, the weather was wonderful and all the ponies decided to be in pleasent moods. It started off with a talk by Allen and page on feeding native ponies followed by a tour of the ponies 'Chief came and gave everybody a 3 second cuddle slot as he sussed out the strangers when we went into his paddock to see the mares'. Fernilea of Talisker and Heather Mitchell then gave a super deer stalking demonstration followed by a BBQ and raffle and the a talk on highland ponies in America by Jill Mueller.
Emma Smith then showed us the ropes with her western riding skills in a demonstration on Western riding with Ruaridh of Talisker and then to finish the day we had a loose schooling demo from Ginny Redgrave.
It was so nice to meet new freinds and catch up with old ones, we had in excess of 40 people on the day.
A big thank you to everyone that helped make it happen both in the gruelling weeks of preparation and also on the day. I will be doing a full write up as soon as i get back from my holiday in France but for now i have placed a few 'taster' pictures on the pictures page.
17th June - Greadhaich of Talisker and Uppacott Diamond Hills participated in the breed display at the East of England show, it was Trulys first time out and she didnt put a foot wrong, what an angel. Beinn on the other hand lived up to his name 'JCB' and although was quite a handful with all the atmosphere he really showed off and got him self quite a fan club.
11th June - We took Rhiddoroch of Talisker to the East Anglian Native Pony Show, the judge really like and and we won the highland Yearling class for the 3rd year running.

3rd June - We took Highland Chief of Whitefield out to Deeping Country Show today, we wanted to get him out for a break after covering mares all spring, he behaved really well and we came home with a first in a large, strong class of large breeds.
21st May-Uppacott Diamond Hills 'AKA Truly', arrived at our yard from Exeter today, truly is a lovely 2 year old dartie filly who has settled in straight away with her partner in crime Rhiddorroch of Talisker.
13th May - Newark and Notts county show, Rhiddorroch of Talisker got a 2nd in the large breeds youngstock in hand and qualified for the Lincolnshire native pony chanpionships in 2007.
11th May - We have a baby! A beautiful cream dun filly by Highland Chief of Whitefield out of Annac Na Dailach, we have called her Foaline of Talisker, foaline means greedy and this is very apt as she has been stuffing her face from the moment she was born.
May - Druimfearna of Talisker has been covered by Highland Chief of Whitefield and has taken, so im really looking forward to seeing her baby next year.
My Boyfreind Andy has had his first riding lesson on Fernilea, he got on really well and has natural talent, bu the only problem is i think i have lost my ridden pony now!
April - Ponies UK Winter Championships - We took Rhiddoroch Of Talisker to her first ever show, which just so happened to be the winter champs (nothing like going in at the deep end), she behaved as if she had been shown one thousand times, we ended up coming 2nd in the Glynn Greenwood and winning the Lee Smith in hand, what a result for her first time out, im so proud of her.
March-Sadly its the End of the hunting season, Fernilea of Talisker has had a great season, our last hunt was at the Milton estates with some lovely big fences and we had a wail of a time, role on next season.
February - ABhaisteir of Talisker made his journey across the ocean to America, he loaded up really well and travelled a treat, he even got a comment from the customs in the us to say what a sweetheart he was. A'Bhaisteir is to become the foundation stallion of the Mcclellan stud.
Jameela of Talisker has gone to her new home with Emma Smith from Godmanchester, she has settled in really well in her new home and made great freinds with Emmas other highland Molly.
January 2006 - 28th JAN - Fitzwilliam Hunt at Milton Park. This is a joint meet with the Woodland Pytchley. It was manic but Lea loved it as it was extreamly fast with some good sized cross country jumps. My friend Alison Babington-Smith came on her pony Poppy. You can see some of the pictures of this hunt on the Other Pictures page.
21st JAN - Hunting at Wistow today. I didn't stay out long as the going was quite deep and there was not a lot of jumping either. Lea hates it when her rider isn't petrified! We got to a covering 2 minutes from where I live after about 2 hours of being out so I felt it best to call it quits there and have a nice steady hack home!
2nd Jan - New years meet was held at the Haycock, Wansford. Helen Babington-Smith, Emma Smith and Myself attended. We had a great time although we covered our tracks on more than several occasions. Lea is starting to understand the whole hunting game and even put in a little buck with me when she felt we should be galloping.
December 2005 - BOXING DAY - Took Fernilea of Talisker to the boxing day meet at The Bell pub, Stilton along with my friend Alison Babingtion-Smith and her pony Poppy. We had a great days hunting although the final gallop home was a bit of a blur due to the Christmas alcohol that we were fueled with.
Saturday 17th Dec - I took Fernilea of Talisker along with my friend Emma Smith and her hairy Highland"Crosspark Molly" to their first hunt of the season, in fact their first hunt ever!! We didn't know how the ponies were going to react but both went beautifully, without depositing us on the floor or disappearing into the sunset with us. We had a great day out, and the ponies throughly enjoyed themselves.
November 2005 - I have brought up Fernilea up from the field. I'm going to start getting her fit and have a FUN winter with her. I have made a rule that I am going to do absolutely no showing but instead get out and do some sponsered rides and cross country for a change. Hopefully, there wil be some pictures of that soon.
October 2005 - We weaned both Jameela and Rose. They both totally shocked us as they were really happy to leave their Mums (Mums also felt the same about losing their babies) and have been really good with all of their baby training.
SEPTEMBER 2005 - What a good month this has been so far. We have just been lucky enough to purchase the stallion "Highland Chief of Whitefield" whom I have had on loan from Melanie Stanford for the summer. Chief has been an absolute angle this summer. We are thrilled that we now own him and are really looking forward to seeing next years foals by him.
AUGUST 2005 - Had an amazing time at 'Ponies UK'. Took our 3yr old gelding, Greadhaich of Talisker, to the final in hand show of his career as a youngster and had a very sucessful time. He was 1st in the large breeds section of the Glyn Greenwood championship and then went on to be Youngstock champion!!! WOW what an achievement, and he was such an angel with all the mayhem of the evening performance I couldn't have asked any more from him. (picture on contacts page)!!
AND to top it all off Blaven of Talisker went into the Highland in hand youngstock on the Saturday and took the Maconachie trophy for the best highland filly for the 2nd year running
July 2005 - 10th July - Blaven of Talisker went to her first show of the season this year as a practice run before the Malvern Highland Pony show. 18th June - Greadhaich of Talisker was 1st In Hand Youngstock Mountain and Moorland and Reserve Champion Mountain and Moorland at the East of England Show today. This was only his second time out this year and with all of the excitement of the show he behaved perfectly.
12th June - We took Polly Porter's yearling filly 'Catriona of Mystic Isles' (by Corriegarth Rhiddoroch) to the East Anglian Native Pony show today. She was a little angel and came in first in the yearling Highland In Hand.
May 2005 - 25th May 2005, Lyncrests Monique has had a cream dun foal by our late stallion Corriegarth Riddorroch in the early morning hours this morning. He is to be named A'Bhaisteir of Talisker which means the executioner. Lets hope he doesn't live up to his name! A'Bhaisteir can be seen on the For Sale list, will make a good ridden pony and has stallion potential. Monique is currently at my friend Polly Porter's yard and Polly has had many sleepless nights waiting for this baby. Since this is one of Red's last foals Polly has been extra careful, and she has another on the way soon by Rhiddorroch out of Lambrigg Snowspice.
The stallion, Highland Chief of Whitefield, arrived in early May. He is on loan to us from Melanie Stanford for the summer season to cover our mares. Chief is by Emperor of Whitefield out of Neka of Whitefield and has been a prolific winner in hand. Chief is a real sweetie and was out running with our mares after only a couple of days. He has settled in really well. We really look foward to the foals from him next year.
Kincardine Caitlin has had her foal today. (19th May), a lovely cream dun colt "Holmedown Lord of Talisker" who will be available at weaning.
8th May - Druimfearna of Talisker went to her first show of the season at Milton Park. She was first in hand youngstock and Reserve Champion.
April 2005 - Kincardine Caitlin has gone to her new home in Devon to my freind Wendy Bridges. Caitlin has settled in extremely well, although she has chosen not to mingle with the other highlands but instead looks on at them from a distance in disgust. Quite a sight aparently!
Lyncrests Monique has gone down to my freind Polly Porter in Suffolk. Polly is hopefully going to have Monnie broken to harness and driving next year, after her foal to Corriegarth Rhiddoroch has been weaned.
Sporandene of Kildavie, the grey stallion by Glensuie has gone back to his owner Janet Roberts in Essex.
WE HAVE A FOAL!! Our first Rhiddoroch baby of 2005 was born on the 18th April, she is a lovely cream dun filly out of Annac Na Dalaich, it was really lovely to find her after loosing Red a few weeks previous, she is gorgeous!!!! See picture above of her at only 2 hours of age, we have named her Rose "Rhiddoroch of Talisker" after her daddy.
March 2005 - Sadly we lost our old stallion "Corriegerth Rhiddorch" on Friday 26th March, it was a complete shock to us as although Red was 29 years of age, he had never had a sick or sorry day in his life, was living out and running with his mares right through the winter and looking amazing, he will be sadly missed by all here, he was a real gentleman and has left us with some lovely stock
January 2005 - Balleroy Minstrel (Minstrel of Whitefield X Yasmine of Whitefield) arrived today. He is my future stallion prospect and an absolute gem. Considering that he had never been on a lorry or away from home for that matter, he took everything in his stride, was really a brave boy and has settled in really well. I am looking foward to getting him into the show ring soon.
December 2004 - Although Druimfearna of Talisker and Blaven of Talisker were supposed to be turned away for the winter, I couldn't stop myself from taking then to one show just beforeChristmas, a Ponies UK Winter Championship qualifier. I am so pleased to say that they both qualified.

When she arrived she pottered straight off the ramp and into the field with the other horses as if she had lived there all her life, not even a nicker or a snort.
Sporrandene of Kildavie was second in the large breeds ridden class at Parsons Drove horse show on the 24th, in a very strong class.
